DEHFOPAD is a small, focused team with a big mission. As a young nonprofit still building its operational capacity, we rely on skilled and committed volunteers to extend our reach, fill critical gaps, and bring expertise we cannot yet sustain in-house. Your time and skills have direct, measurable impact – not just on the communities we serve, but on the organization’s ability to grow and deliver.

Volunteer Roles

Five ways to contribute – in the field, online, or professionally.

                                Field Volunteers
Work directly on the ground in Cameroon during active program deployments – supporting distribution logistics, beneficiary coordination, and community engagement.
Assist in back-to-school kit preparation, sorting, and distribution
Support beneficiary verification and roster documentation
Coordinate with local school administrators and community leaders
Provide real-time field reporting and photo/video documentation

                                Education & Mentorship Volunteers
Support student learning and mentor youth in our target communities – in person or remotely through structured online learning programs.
Tutoring and academic support for primary and secondary school students
Remote English language instruction and literacy support
Youth mentorship and career guidance for young adults (ages 15-25)
Curriculum review and educational material development

Contribute your digital or administrative skills to help DEHFOPAD operate and communicate effectively as it grows.
Social media content creation and community management (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
Website content updates and blog writing

Help DEHFOPAD document and share our work – building the visual and narrative record that drives donor trust, media attention, and public awareness.
Photography and videography during field campaigns

Translation between English and French for program communications

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be in Cameroon to volunteer?

No. The majority of our current volunteer needs can be fulfilled remotely - including digital support, media and storytelling, professional advisory, and education and mentorship roles. Field volunteers are needed on-site in Cameroon during active campaign deployments, but remote contributions are equally valued and impactful.

Is volunteering with DEHFOPAD paid?

Volunteer roles at DEHFOPAD are unpaid. We are a young nonprofit building operational capacity. As the organization grows and secures sustainable funding, we will formalize paid roles where possible - but all current contributions are on a voluntary basis.

How much time do I need to commit?

It depends on the role. Some positions - like Digital & Administrative Support or Professional Advisory - can be fulfilled in a few hours per week on a flexible schedule. Field volunteer roles are project-based and tied to specific campaign deployments. When you apply, tell us your availability and we will find a fit that works for you.

What skills is DEHFOPAD currently looking for?

Our most immediate needs are in digital and administrative support (social media, content creation, graphic design) and media and storytelling (photography, video editing, writing). We also welcome professionals in grant writing, nonprofit law, finance, and program evaluation who can contribute advisory support.

Will I receive a volunteer certificate or letter?

Yes. Upon completion of a volunteer engagement, DEHFOPAD will provide a written confirmation letter documenting your role, time contributed, and the nature of your work. This can be used for academic, professional, or personal records.

Can students or recent graduates volunteer?

Absolutely. We welcome university students, recent graduates, and young professionals looking to build international development, nonprofit management, or humanitarian work experience. Volunteering with DEHFOPAD offers real-world exposure to grassroots program delivery and organizational development.

How will I know when a field volunteer opportunity is available?

When a field campaign is planned, we notify interested volunteers via email. Submit your application now and select "Field Volunteer" as your area of interest - we will contact you when a relevant deployment is being organized.
